Anina obtained her BA and Honours Degrees in Psychology at the University of South Africa in 2009. Both degrees were awarded cum laude. She completed a Master's degree in Psychology at Stellenbosch University in 2016 which was upgraded to a PhD and completed in 2018. She also completed a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Namibia in 2017.
Before embarking on a career in Psychology, Anina worked as a systems analyst and programmer. She assisted in the development of computer systems for several Namibian companies such as Medscheme Namibia, Namlife, Social Security Commission, Model Pick ‘n Pay and Namcol to name but a few. After 15 years in the IT industry, she sold her business and entered the world of Psychology. Although Anina still dabbles in the IT side of things, she applies her skills mainly to develop systems for Let’s Talk.
In her role as Clinical Psychologist, Anina combines her corporate background with psychology to facilitate workshops for business clients. She also enjoys delivering parenting and couples’ workshops and sharing her knowledge with other professionals. As co-supervisor of interns in the psychology profession, Anina is able to invest in the next generation of Namibian psychologists.
Anina often works with children of all ages, couples and individuals. Her interests include seizure disorders, complicated diagnoses in young people, life transitions in older people, relationship challenges and more serious psychopathology. Anina utilises an eclectic approach to therapy and combines different therapeutic techniques to meet client needs.
In her free time, she spends time on business processes, guiding clinical and admin staff, practice management and content development. Real free time involves fishing, husband, four sons and some short runs or walks.
