Monya earned her Honours Degree and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Degree from the University of Namibia. Throughout her academic journey, she demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both research and clinical practice. She put her skills to practice during a 6-month practicum at Okonguarri Psychotherapeutic Centre and started working at Let’s Talk Psychologists in 2024.
Drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and person-centred therapy (PCT), Monya tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client. She believes in creating a warm and nonjudgemental therapeutic environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions and behaviours openly.
With experience in treating anxiety disorders, depression, addictions and interpersonal difficulties, Monya empowers clients to develop practical coping strategies, build resilience, and cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves. She is deeply committed to collaborating with clients to achieve meaningful and sustainable change.
Monya strives to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. She is dedicated to fostering a community where individuals feel supported, understood and empowered to prioritise their mental well-being.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, spending quality time with loved ones (including her dogs), exercising and watching feel-good movies. She believes in the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and incorporating self-care practices into daily routines.
