Janine van Schalkwyk

Intern Clinical Psychologist

Janine obtained her BA and Honours degrees in Psychology from the University of the Free State, South Africa. She completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Namibia. Janine is currently completing her internship at Let’s Talk and will become a valued member of the team in the future.

Janine enjoys working with a variety of individuals and has a special interest in women’s mental health and wellness, including (but not limited to) fertility, postpartum depression, anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, adjustment to parenthood and other life transitions as well as psychoeducation and parental guidance. She also has an interest in couples’ therapy, trauma and PTSD as well as play therapy. She considers her therapy style to be interactive and person-centred, with an interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Janine enjoys collaborating in workshops aimed at parents' and woman’s health. Her gentle and engaging style makes her a favourite amongst course-goers.

In her free time, she enjoys the arts, freelance photography and spending quality time with her family.
